Let your light shine!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

One of my favorite scripture verses is Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

I have such a heart to be a light where I am and to everyone around me. This verse helps me to remember that it's not about me, it's all about Him. And  no matter how I feel at the moment I must not give in to how I feel. Because I may miss an opportunity to show someone the love of Christ.  Because someone always needs it!

We are called to impact the world! To show God's love and shine for Him. I believe we can impact the world around us by just being who we are in Jesus. And not letting the things of this world get to us. To love with God's love and treating people with respect and kindness. I think people will notice that Jesus difference!

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12

Jesus is the light of the world! and His light is flaming through us! We carry the light of life within us and people want to know what that light is. They want to see light in the darkness!
When Jesus left He gave us the responsibility  to be the light of the world. We are called to make a difference to shine. What an opportunity we have everyday. No matter where we are. At your work, school, or even in your own home. and what a privilege that is to be His light to the world. This dark, hungry world that are longing for Him, longing for hope, longing for meaning!

Brothers and sisters, We have that hope, we have that longing fulfilled and we have the meaning within us. Because Jesus is inside of us! The time is now to share the light! It starts with one candle, it starts with one match! to light another, and another until the whole world hears and see's the love of God! Keep your lamps full of fire until the whole room is on fire for God!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
John 14:12
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”
John 12:36

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. Revelation 21:23

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:5

So blessed.

These past three months and ten days  have been the most joyful and exhausting days of my life and I'm positive my dear Mr. Riley would agree with me. Full of laughter, hard work, late nights, spit up, endless laundry, dirty diapers, smiles, tears (from both me and baby) and non stop pure joy..

I've always wanted to be a young mom. Even since I could remember... I was the little girl that had a baby doll every time I went out pretending it was my real life baby. Now here I am years later holding a sweet blessing that God had planned for me since the beginning of time.

What really continues to amaze me is I was meant to be the Mother to Evelynne. Out of all the other women in the world God hand picked me to be the one to rock her before she sleeps, to read to her and pray for her, to teach her who she is in Christ and reminding her each and every day how much she is loved.Why did He pick me for such a task.. At the moment, I have no idea. I'm kinda reminded of Mother Teresa 's quote

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much."

Nothing could have prepared me to be a mom. Advice, Parenting Magazine's, Super mom's. Nothing but the love of Jesus. It is physically and mentally the hardest job I have ever had because well, We're disciplining and raising a life here. But every time when I wake up in the morning exhausted somehow that little smile I am given when Evelynne sees her momma looking  at her. Everything just stands still and I thank God for His little smiles.

Being a mom has given me more understanding of learning to appreciate the little things in life. Little smiles, little footsies, little hands, little noses, every hair on her head, little ques and the joys of baby talk. Now the spit up I'm not to crazy about but she's so worth it!

We are so thankful to God to be entrusting this amazing daughter of ours.Being parents our understanding   of God's love for His children has deepened inside our hearts. Being a parent. There's just nothing like it!

How has your life changed since you became a mom? Preggers this is for you too! ;)

You Are Loved.

I really sometimes wonder if we really grasp how much we're loved?  I remember when I didn't even have a clue. It just amazes me every time that Jesus, My God, The creator of all things loves me. And because of Jesus I am worthy of love and you are too! It doesn't matter what you have done in the past Jesus loves you! Jesus came off his throne into this darkened dirty world we live in and has offered His love, compassion, healing and forgiveness to the world and willingly died for us so that we could spend eternity with Him. He could of had heaven to his own but He chose to suffer a horrible long death so that He could cherish every moment spending eternity with you.  And you  were on His mind the whole time. In fact  if only one of us had sinned, if only one of us had fallen. Nothing would have changed. He still would have died the same death just for you. I just find that the most amazing thing ever! To know that Jesus loves you for who you are. You might be unsatisfied with your weight, hair, looks, or style but Jesus thinks you are His most beautiful prized creation! Despite of every regret, every mistake you have made, Jesus can't get you out of His head nor does He want too. He loves you and treasures you more than His very Life. He doesn't want you to have regrets that's why He is willing to take your every burden that you carry and rid of it. He wants you to live the free and joyful life He died to give you!  It's great to just take your time and meditate on the love of God. And just thank Him for His love. For none can love like my God!

O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall[a] on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[b]
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.

Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.
For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.
Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalms 139

Over Coffee (Link up)

If I was having coffee with you, I would tell how much I am looking forward to spring. With it being March  I'm finally starting to get spring fever! There is just so much to look forward to this Spring now that we're a little family. This is definitely a year full of surprises to look forward too!

Spring is defiantly one of my favorite seasons. It's right next to fall. It's such a beautiful time of year when everything that has died from the previous wintery damage has come back to life.  It kinda reminds me of how God brought us back to life and turned us into something beautiful after the damage of a sinful world.

I'm looking forward to seeing the first butterfly since last summer.. the sound of bees flying through the beautiful flowers, the smell of honey suckle on a lightly breezed, sweet tea, sun hat wearing day, And one of my favorites the colors and scents of many flowers that bloom. Oh the many blessings of spring.

Oh did I mention I'm a spring baby?? Yeppers May 1st actually. That's one of the many reasons I was named "Heather". Because well, Heather is a flower and The Lord told my Momma that I would bloom in people's lives. And that's kinda my mission. To bloom in the lives of others so that they might bloom as well. To bless and to bring happiness to those who mourn, to bring hope to those who have none, and to bring a season of love to someone who is experiencing a season of hate. My mission is to love those who persecute me and to bloom like a flower  in a world that is full of concrete.  Yes, I'm a "Flower child" what can I say? And now that being said. =)

Going for walks this spring will be much more exciting now that I have a wee little princess to keep my company. She loves the out doors so I know when spring comes she will want to be out there all the time.. I don't have a problem with that though. I'll be out joining her. I loved going on walks before but now they will be much more sweeter as we both stand amazed at God's beautiful paintings.

Oh, did I mention that the March of last year was when I found out I was pregnant with this baby girl? My life has never been the same since!
This is what I would tell you if I had the honor of having coffee with you on this cold March morning.. What would you tell me?
