Calming Your Baby & Sleep Methods

Today I am linking up with the lovely  Kaitlyn & Jennifer!
Sometimes calming your baby to get him/her to sleep can be difficult. And then there are some babies that love to sleep and they have the luckiest mama's alive haha!

I kinda have a bed time routine with my baby girl that seems to help her sleep better. She's still waking up about twice at night but it really helps her go to bed quicker and more calm.

1. It starts out with a bath which this part is only twice a week because you really don't need to bath your babe every day ;) I rub her with some body wash and kind of message her as well. I don't rush bath time because it's not only fun watching her kick and make funny noises but she's also getting tired out from all that splashing. I pretty much let her play until she wants to come out!

2. Lotion rub down.
I've read in a parenting magazine that if you message your baby with a nice calming voice with a smile on your face it really helps calming them to a restful sleep and I have found that information to be really helpful.

3. Reading to her.
Reading to Evelynne is one of my favorite parts of the day. I can't wait until she can truly understand what I'm reading. But I know without a doubt she loves the quality time she has with me as I read to her. We have a Princess Bible we read to her and she sits in my lap and I read to her as I run my fingers through her hair.

4. Nursing.
Before bed I give her one last round. It's usually her longest nursing and it pretty much does the job to help her fall asleep. While she nurses I pray. I pray health over her, protection and sweet sleeps. She loves hearing mommy pray. I really believe she knows who I'm talking too!

5. & before I lay her down, turn on her giraffe and turn off the light. I kiss her precious head and I say "Dream big precious girl."  I've realized today that I'm not the only Mama who tells their babies that! I'm glad we'll have big dreamers in the future!!
