Thoughts on Valentines day

So it's that time of the month again.. That time of the month when I log onto good old Facebook just to see all the single girls post the same status' "Why do I have to be single on V day?"  "Why do I have to be lonely?"

May I give you single ladies some encouragement today? It's obvious that Valentines day isn't your most favorite holiday at the moment. And for the longest time it wasn't mine either.... It was actually well, a very lonely day for me because it was a big reminder  saying "Hey your single!" While all of my friends went on there dates with their Mr. I was at home watching corny romance movies. Crying my  eyes out because Buttercup finally realized that her beloved Wesley was not dead.  (Yes I am a hopeless romantic & proud of it!) But you know Valentines day doesn't have to be a reminder that your single. What is this holiday really about anyway? It's about love, and who loves you more than Jesus? Ummm.... No one!  How about this Valentines day instead of thinking about the boyfriend/husband you don't have, why don't you think about the people you do have that love you? Have you ever thought about buying your mom or bestie a Valentines day card? Or even better Jesus? Jesus is the best Valentine a girl could have. How do I know this? Because He's been mine ever since I've realized just how Amazing and loving He really is! He's even my Valentine now. Leon and I do our thing a week or so before Valentines day because Valentines day is mine are Jesus' holiday. Plus we very much dislike crowded places. but don't worry there's enough of Jesus' love to be shared! He want's to be apart of your Valentines day too!!

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Romans 5:8 "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 8:37-39  "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

1 John 3:1  ?See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him."

I don't know about you ladies, But I'm pretty swept off my feet by Jesus! How about you?

Captivated by a love so grand.
I was lost until He gave me His hand.
Took me up into a life unknown.
An amazing Love He has shown.
He gave me wings so that I may soar.
A life of fear I live no more.

I love this! It's great encouragement for every woman, even the married or taken ladies. Thank you for these verses and reminders of how faithful and loving our Lord is!
