He will work it out for your good.

Mistakes are often your best educator. As long as you don’t quit, you will never lose.
                                                          -Paula White.

Dearest friends, Today don't let your past mistakes hinder you, don't let them define who you are.. But instead learn from your mistakes, remember that it is only Jesus who defines who you really are and let Him take your circumstances and use it for His glory as a testimony that will blow others away.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:29

You're beautiful!

Women with curves and tats
"Who are they to tell you that you are ugly when God has already spoken that you are beautiful? -Heather leigh

Happy Wednesday  lovelies, Today I want to talk with you about something that has burdened my heart.

When you ladies get up in the morning and  look in the  mirror do you ever feel instant insecurity about your appearance?

Or when you look at the cover of a magazine about the sexiest women alive or something like that? Do you feel not as pretty?

Do you know where those lies are coming from? The enemy. The king of lies.

You see, those are lies I heard so much during my teenage years. So much that I started to believe them and claimed them as my own.

I thought I was ugly, I thought I was fat and I thought I was stupid..

All this because of a little lie.... A little lie that I let have a bigger impact on my teenage life  then it should have.

I'm honestly not sure if I actually had a minor eating disorder or not.. But regardless, the mindset I had wasn't healthy.  There were days where I skipped meals, went a day without eating and took weight loss pills.. Healthy right?? Nope..

I was such a people pleaser and so focused on fitting into smaller jeans I was desperate..

I actually still have to remind myself to eat to this day. Not for the sake of loosing weight but I'm just not a huge eater.. One thing I have learned though about focusing too much on outer appearances though is that whether you are overweight, curvy or on the thin side people will always have a negative side. Kinda just like pregnancy.

"You're too skinny to be 30 weeks pregnant"    "Are you eating enough"  "You need to like go home and eat now!"

When I was in my early stages of pregnancy I was really sick. I couldn't hold nothing down as much as I tried. Not even water. And ended loosing 20 pounds from the whole experience. And because of my long torso it made me look even skinnier.. Though people may have meant for those comments to be considered as compliments it was hard for me not to take them as a slap in the face.. Especially when this one lady asked me if I was eating enough. I was so upset about that due to my earlier years..

Continuing in my pregnancy it was very rare when I got a "You look great!"  (Which is a comment I'd prefer. and it makes the comment a lot less awkward!

After I gave birth to my darling baby girl.. I was able to get back into my pre pregnancy clothes within a few weeks and then they ended up being too big for me. I guess with the weight I already lost from morning sickness and the weight loss from constant nursing made me underweight. Leaving me a little insecure once again.. And the comments I received seriously made me feel worse..

"You're so skinny."  Where did your butt go?"  "Man, I'm so jealous"? "You don't even look like you had a baby!" "Girl, you lost your curves, you looked so much better with curves."

How do you respond to those kinda comments? To me it makes the conversation totally awkward. "Thanks?"   I feel like if I were to say thanks it would  make me sound vain or if I were to say nothing at all I feel like I'd be rude..

I'm telling you these things not because I'm complaining about my physical body. Because I finally love my physical body. Do you know why? Because it's no longer my focus.

I have realized  that body type is such an obsession these days where being skinny is dangerously desired  and to some who aren't skinny either don't think their pretty or they believe their prettier than thinner women..

I read this quote the other day that I didn't take fancy of at all..

"Real women aren't a size 4 ladies, Real women have curves".
I know and understand that this quote is meant for the media's models and all but seriously? Do we have to go as far as calling them fake women? The only thing fake about them is their body on the magazine what was Photoshopped...  And you know some girl's can't help the fact that they are size 0's 4's 6's 24's  Some women can't help their size due to circumstances or it's just the way they were created. Beautifully.
Darlings.. Whether you are overweight, underweight, curvy or thin.  I just want to tell you that you are beautiful. Maybe the media would disagree because of the zit on your face or the stretch marks, or the freckles but you know what. Who cares what they think?  My question to you is "Who are they to tell you that you are ugly when God has already spoken that you are beautiful? After all,  He created you perfectly and completed you with His Son Jesus who defines your beauty.

So sisters, let today be the last day that we agree with the lie that was told.. The lie that told us we are not worthy, that we are ugly, that we are fat, that we are skinny. But instead let us believe the truth that will set us free. We are beautiful! Not because of who we are but who Our Beloved Jesus is in us..

Lets stop with these worldly desires to lose or gain weight just to fit in with the media's  Photoshopped beauty. And desire only to be healthy. The way it's meant to be!

And please... Can we stop identifying and labeling people as skinny or curvy.. A "You're beautiful" would be perfect and even more perfect is "Your heart is beautiful!"

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

                                                     -Proverbs 31:30

                                             Love you, beauties!! XOXO  -Heather

I am confident.

I am confident that with God I can do anything! For am loved so by the Maker.
It has nothing to do with me, but it has everything to do with my Lord who Strengthens me.
For when I am afraid I will trust in Jesus always. It is God's Name I praise.
For it is in God I trust and will not be afraid.
For In You I am strong and In You I have taken heart. I have hope in my Lord. I have no fear of sudden disaster. For my confidence is in My God and not my own. And my foot will not be snared.

"the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love"

Lets walk in love!

"Walking in love means that we love others  exactly the same way that Christ has loved us...
Walking in love means giving the other person what he or she needs the most when it is least deserved, because that's exactly how God has treated you. That's what genuine love is."

Be still....

This morning I read Mark 4:35-40

"And the same day, when the evening was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

I feel as though we can definitely apply this truth to our lives daily.  God can take every situation, every sea and every season and calm it. And He can work all things out for the good!

It is so awesome to know that Our God is so Mighty and Powerful! There is nothing He can't do! He can remove every burden, cleanse every heart, fulfill every desire and calm every storm! We serve the Most High God!

Do you have any burdens tonight? Do you have a heart that needs to be made whole? Do you need healing? Do you need waters to be calmed in your life?

Cast all your cares to Jesus. Because He loves you more then you can even imagine! It doesn't matter where you have been, and what you are doing, He wants to help.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30

Let your light shine!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

One of my favorite scripture verses is Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

I have such a heart to be a light where I am and to everyone around me. This verse helps me to remember that it's not about me, it's all about Him. And  no matter how I feel at the moment I must not give in to how I feel. Because I may miss an opportunity to show someone the love of Christ.  Because someone always needs it!

We are called to impact the world! To show God's love and shine for Him. I believe we can impact the world around us by just being who we are in Jesus. And not letting the things of this world get to us. To love with God's love and treating people with respect and kindness. I think people will notice that Jesus difference!

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12

Jesus is the light of the world! and His light is flaming through us! We carry the light of life within us and people want to know what that light is. They want to see light in the darkness!
When Jesus left He gave us the responsibility  to be the light of the world. We are called to make a difference to shine. What an opportunity we have everyday. No matter where we are. At your work, school, or even in your own home. and what a privilege that is to be His light to the world. This dark, hungry world that are longing for Him, longing for hope, longing for meaning!

Brothers and sisters, We have that hope, we have that longing fulfilled and we have the meaning within us. Because Jesus is inside of us! The time is now to share the light! It starts with one candle, it starts with one match! to light another, and another until the whole world hears and see's the love of God! Keep your lamps full of fire until the whole room is on fire for God!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
John 14:12
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”
John 12:36

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. Revelation 21:23

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:5

We are daughters.

We are daughters of a King. Not just any King, we are the daughters of God! The Most High God. It's amazing to really meditate and think that God is delighted in us! We are the apple of His eye. We are daddy's girl. He is our very perfect daddy who does not make any mistakes, who will never give up on you and will always come to your rescue  when you cry out to Him.

Our earthly fathers may love and adore us, but their love is not perfect, no matter how great-or small- it is. Only the love of our Father in Heaven is perfect. Because He is love. He has formed our body, He has fashioned our mind and soul. He knows our personality, and He understands our every  need and desire. He loves us passionately and patiently. He knows and loves every hair on our head. He bought us with a great price so that we could have an intimate relationship with Him forever!

I have received God as my Father. He is my Abba and I am truly His girl! I remember one time I was just weeping, craving that fatherly relationship I have always desired. I desired that relationship for a dad always ready to hug you, go for walks with you, never turning you down, always showing you love, and holding you when you cry. I guess before I have never really saw God as the Fatherly type who gave great big hugs and held you when you cried..... Boy, I had it the most opposite! He is the perfect one for the job! When I was weeping I felt God pouring out to me a Fatherly love! Speaking to me and comforting me. I cried because I felt the love of my Abba!

Do you desire a relationship worth dying for? God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die for you. So that you could be His daughter. Come to Him and He will show you the true meaning of Fatherly love!

“ I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the LORD Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18

Lady lessons: Giving your single life to Christ.

Happy Friday my single sisters, This morning God has really laid a burden on my heart to write directly to you today. I have been thinking about you often. And I have been reading many of your facebook, and twitter posts regarding to wanting a boyfriend, wanting someone to hold you, kiss you and make you feel special. I have seen you looking lonely, and I have seen an emptiness inside your heart that your hoping a knight in shining armor can fulfill, I have seen you looking in all the wrong places, doing the wrong things, and doing everything you can to please someone who is only bringing you hurt. Well ladies, this is exactly what I'm going to be talking with you about today.

I'm gonna start off by telling you today that I know how you feel. TRUST ME! I have spent many years single. In fact I didn't have a boyfriend until I was nineteen years of age. So, please listen to me when I say I am not speaking empty words. I remember that lonely feeling. That feeling you get when your friends have dates for prom, when your friends cancel on you because their boyfriends want to take them out, and having to be a good friend by listening to your friend talk about their first kiss or when he held her hand for the first time.  I remember those feelings. And because I do. The Lord wants me to encourage you with these words.

HE IS FOR YOU.  HE GETS YOU.  HE KNOWS HOW YOU FEEL. HE HAS A PLAN.

He knows how you feel.
I know you may be thinking "How in the world can God know how I feel? How can Jesus ever be lonely when He's The Lord of the universe? Well, think about it. When He came to earth He experienced every emotion we experience. He was rejected and denied  by His friends,  tormented by soldiers, and spat on by millions of people. He had people yelling in His face, beating Him, and blaspheming Him. And when He died on The cross for us, God had to turn His head from Jesus for the first and last time because Jesus bore the sin of the world. And God cannot look upon sin. That right there had to have been the most lonely feeling ever experienced. You can't even imagine it. And He bore that so you would not have to experience that kind of loneliness.

He filled my heart, He can fill yours.
If you would have known me in my teen early years. You definitely would have labeled me as "boy crazy" Every time I went out I was on the lookout for boys, I had posters on my wall of cuties, loved romanced movies, and you would often find me day dreaming of how I would meet my future hunk when I should have been doing my studies. And even though I didn't have a bf for Valentines day. I still celebrated it by my lonesome. And if I was lucky I had other single girlfriends to join me ( Which didn't happen often). But you see, It didn't have to be that way at all! And I wish I would have realized that long before I did. I had that void in my heart. And I thought that void could be filled if I had a boyfriend.. But you see. You can't fill that void with a boy or man. That void can only be filled with the one who loves you the most and more than any man or boy can. And that's Jesus. My heart was changed at the age of seventeen when I went to camp with my Baptist church. To be honest I don't remember all the sermons that well. And  certainly not good enough to quote any. But what really hit me was the worship. That was the first time the presence of The Holy Spirit overcame me and it was the first time I was brought to tears. My life was forever changed. He was The Love of my life and lover of my soul. Worship really brought me to a oneness with Him. I realized He was really all I needed. And  I realized I didn't even want to play the whole "dating game" that all of my friends played. As much as I wanted a boyfriend I just knew that game wasn't for me and that it certainly wouldn't make me stronger with my relationship with God. So, I made a commitment that I wasn't going to date by worldly standards, I wasn't going to try and date all the fishes in the sea. I wanted to do it God's way and only His way. I made the decision that I was only going to date one man, say "I love you" to one man, to hold hands with one man, to kiss one man, and to marry one man. So that my future husband could have my everything. Because I thought my man deserves that much from me!  And I knew it would be amazing because that's how God plans things. Some supported my decision, some said I was setting myself up for disappointment and self condemnation, and I even had a youth pastors wife tell me that wasn't realistic. But you know what? I wasn't going for what was "realistic" in the worldly realm. I was going for  the realistic in God's realm. Because in Him all things are possible and I know He wanted what was best for me. And I knew His perfect plan was for me to live a life without the heartbreak of a boy. And suddenly that void in my heart was filled with the love of Jesus.

Giving your single life to God.
Now I'm not saying that because the void was filled I didn't have crushes or interests and I didn't have lonely moments. Of course I did! I was actually very interested  in a few men  before Leon came into my life. And I was certain they were my future holy hunks. But I told God I had no interest to be with them if He didn't want me to be. So, I prayed for departure with them or loss of interest. And that was exactly what happened. One went to college and I lost interest with the rest. And I have spent some nights crying because I wanted to be held and cherished by a man. It doesn't mean a void was still there. It simply means that I'm human, a woman, and I was created to be loved by a man and to be cherish by a man. God knew this. And all those nights He was right there to comfort me. Telling me and reminding me of what He had planned. He had that knight in shining armor waiting for me. I just had to be patient. He reminded me to give my single life to Him. And let me tell you ladies it's the best decision you can make! It was certainly the best one I made.  Jesus has filled my every need as a single woman. That need to be cherished, loved, and known. I can't think of a time where He hasn't been there. I would wake up and He surprised me every morning with a new picture of the sunrise, I'd go outside and He'd surprise me with a flowers new bloom, He'd speak to me through people and sometimes He'd speak to my very heart. And through His word He would remind me of His everlasting love for me. And that He was all I needed.  And Valentines day was no longer lonely. It was a special day I would set a side for Jesus and I. And yes, I would still watch romance movies. And I would be glad. Because I know my relationship with Jesus was so much more special and deeper then Hollywood's. And He had a special and more romantic plan for my love life with my husband. Better than Hollywood can comprehend. Not only did giving my single life to God grow my relationship with Him, fill a lonely void in my heart but also, giving my single life to God gave me hope for the future! I didn't have to worry about whether or not I would ever get married. I knew it was His plan. I just needed to be patient.

God works much faster than some people think.
A lot of women give up and get into relationships themselves because they say God isn't working fast enough for them. But that is a nasty trick the enemy can use to bring you further from God. I have known people who have turned their back on God and have decided to do things their way and the only thing that has come out of it was heartbreak one way or another. It either ended up with abuse, divorce, singleness for a much longer period of time and depression. And some women are left being a struggling single mom. But that is not God's plan for your life at all! He wants to give you life and life more abundantly. If you are feeling like your already waiting a billion years. Keep reading His word, seek Him. He has answers for you. He works faster than you think. In fact He never stops working on your future. He is preparing both you and the man He has for you. I was the only one out of all my friends that didn't have a boyfriend. And of course at times I was discouraged. But here is an example of God working faster than most people think. and here's my testimony that if you wait on God to bring you your future husband you won't be disappointed.
I met my future husband Leon. Actually when we were fourteen at a friends birthday party. He was a cool goth kid. And I was a naive girl that was boy crazy. We were both attracted to each other but for some reason we didn't exchange numbers or keep contact. Most likely because my mom didn't want me to be involved with some goth boy. And then a few years later at the age of eighteen I saw him again. He was a maintenance and security man at a Church I was involved in at the time. And as soon as I saw him I new who he was. Which is quite strange because he looked COMPLETELY different from when I first met him. He was no longer that goth kid I met that day. He was very nicely put together, muscular and smelled amazing! And just by looking at him I could tell he was a very spiritual man. And I didn't know this at the time. But I believe God was speaking to my heart that day that he was going to be the man I would one day marry. And that day seriously came sooner than I thought. We became friends that January, became closer friends that April, had my first date that July, had my very first boyfriend that September, got engaged that November and we were married by December of 2011 at the age of twenty. The Lord brought us together within two years. You can read more about our love story here.

A life with no regrets.
There are so many more testimonies you can find on how fast God works and even better how Awesome God works! Like Rebecca St James. She was married in her early thirties to the love of her life! She lived her entire single life fully devoted to God through her music and now she and her husband are now sharing a life together in fully dedication to God. She had many nights wondering if she would ever get married. And God was always there with her. To comfort, love and cherish. And being married in her early thirties she never regrets giving her single life to God. And she has such a joy in her spirit that is amazingly beautiful. A joy only God could give her. When I met her that one October day at Panera Bread. I saw on her a woman with no regrets. And that's exactly what God wants to give you. A life with no regrets.

Diamond among thorns.
The Lord planted a image in my heart this morning of a diamond among thorns. And  it was hard to get to the diamond without getting pricked or hurt by the thorns. What does this image mean do you ask? Well, The diamond represents a desire, a dream. In this case maybe a husband. And reality is that if you stick your hand in the thorny bushes to grab it. your hand and arm will come out all scratched up. The thorns represents things that are getting in the way of what you want. They also represent the worldly men. You don't have to go through the thorns to get your diamond. You don't have to go through heartbreaks to find your future husband either. Many say that heartbreaks are apart of life, heartbreaks help you grow up and that heartbreaks turn you into the person you were meant to be. But truth is. That's all wrong. God created relationships not to be stressful, drama filled, broken and a bad memory. He created relationships to be only beautiful, lovely and something worth treasuring! He doesn't want you to find your way through the thorns but He wants to bring the diamond to you so you wont get hurt by the things the world brings. He wants you to live a life scare free!

So this is what God has really put in my heart today. He wants you to know that He loves you more than any boy or man could! And He wants to show you a love that no man can fill. All you have to do is trust Him and give your life to Him. And He will fill every void, cherish and fill your every need. And wake you up in the morning with a smile on your face. I deeply encourage you to give your single life to Christ. Because then you will realize that being single isn't such a curse like you think it is. But it's really a blessed life!

The verse I leave with you today is a verse that has helped me so much during my single life and God still uses it to speak to me today!  It's Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you. Declares The Lord. Plans that will prosper you and not harm you. Plans that will give you hope and a future!
Be blessed my sisters!

Faith

“Faith wouldn’t be faith without having to trust what is unseen. Sometimes it’s easier to put our trust in what is seen, what is tangible. But God wants us to put one foot in front of the other and just step out in faith.”

Be a dreamer!

Pictures taken by: Me

Never be afraid to chase your dreams, because if you don't think your good enough or talented enough and you let fear get in the way. You will spend the rest of your life wishing you would have not let fear hinder. Trust God because He wants you to be a dreamer!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Love that waits really is true.

“‎True love isn't expressed in passionately whispered words an intimate kiss or a embrace; before two people are married, love is expressed in self-control, patience, even words left unsaid.”
                                                                                           ― Joshua Harris

So, this subject has really been on my heart lately. Well, to be honest it is always on my heart to share with people the importance of love and purity. But recently I have felt led to write a post about the danger of  lust. Unfortunately so many have interpreted lust as having the same meaning as love. A lot of  that nonsense comes from our media. Like boyfriends and girlfriends having sex, men talking about girls inappropriately and so on. And some how people seem to find stuff like this romantic.  Because the world has blinded us to believe it is so. But let me tell you that lust and love are two totally different things, with total opposite meanings! Lust means to crave, to hunger, to covet, to yearn. It is filled with non satisfaction. You maybe satisfied for a few minutes maybe even longer. But eventually you will always end up hungry again, leaving you feeling depressed and desiring. But you see, that is not what God wants for you! He wants you to be loved over, not lusted over. He wants you to be cherished not just a play toy. God designed us and he knows how we work. He also designed sex and knows how it works. He created sex to be a guilt free gift with zero side affects and zero heartbreak. He doesn't tell us to wait until marriage just to sit back and watch us struggle. He cares for us and loves us enough to tell us to stay clear of lust because he knows the dangers of it.  He knows the horrible things that follow after lust which is death, bondage, greed, confusion, failing and self- condemnation.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
  James 1:14-15
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.   Matthew 5:28

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world    1 John 2:16

Instead, He wants us to know the power of  love that brings life, freedom, receiving, understanding and forgiveness. He doesn't want you to experience death but life, and life more abundantly!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails!
 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Lust is Satan's  #1 tool to use when he tries to end relationships and marriages. Because he hates them so much! Especially when he sees that a certain relationship is glorifying God and desires to glorify Him.
Why does he try so hard to destroy a Jesus loving relationship? Because he fears the power in it.

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”    Matthew 18:19-20

If there is just one who can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. Imagine what two as one can conquer through Christ!   Satan fears that. So he wants to do all he can to destroy it! And unfortunately he knows a great weakness in a lot of  relationships is lust. So he runs with it by planting weeds at the door of your mind.  By telling you things such as " Well, you guys are going to get married anyways. So why not? And "You guys love each other  so it's okay"

It's so important that you destroy those thoughts before they reach the finish line. Because sex out of marriage can destroy the love that was there! Even if it feels right. Which makes sense because you were meant to be together, and you are meant to give yourself to one another. But the timing is wrong if it's not in marriage and the right thing at the wrong time is the wrong thing.  By letting that weed grow around your mind your allowing captivity not only in your relationship, but in yourself as well. When you just don't want any part of the relationship and temptation anymore. You decide to just break off what was once beautiful. The woman is left feeling disrespected, unworthy, and shamed. Feeling anger toward the man who is supposed to be protecting her sexual purity and honor. And the man is left feeling lonely, shameful, insecure, a failure  and disconnected  because he deeply feels rejected by the woman knowing he hurt her. You see, there is not just one victim but two.  And slowly they depart. Destroying something that was once beautiful into a heartbroken memory. This is why it is so important to destroy the weed as soon as it's planted and to not encourage it by adding water. This is why God tells us to wait. Because waiting will make a marriage stronger!

Maybe you feel like you've compromised, or you haven't done everything right? But let me tell you that it doesn't matter how far you've gone. There is always freedom in Christ! His grace and His forgiveness can make you as pure as if it has never happened. But we need our hearts to be towards God fully. And He can cleanse us white as snow. He can give us the strength to live a pure life. But none of us are perfect. We all need the grace of God. And God is always willing to give us that grace, love and forgiveness. He already has! He doesn't condemn you and He doesn't want you to condemn yourself. But He does want to set you free! And who the Son sets free is free indeed!

Take delight in me.

How often do you take time to just simply delight in the Lord? I have been doing studies on the book of Psalms this past month and I have noticed quite a bit of scripture that talks about delighting yourself in God. And I couldn't help but ask God heart to heart if I have delighted in Him lately and constantly? Does He have my everything? Life can get out of hand sometimes, and we have all these obstacles coming at us constantly and it has become so extremely easy to think about things we don't have and praying about everything that has gone wrong in our lives. We get so caught up in the world that we forget what life is really about! It's about using everything you have for the Glory of God! About seeking first His Kingdom, doing everything with you greatest ability because you know your doing it for Christ.  Laying everything down before The Lord and taking delight in Him every second of the day. Our lives, attitudes  and perspective on things would be so much more joyful if we looked to the Lord with delight. Because we would see that He is all that matters and He is all that we need!

So let us wake up every morning praising God for His amazing personality and love. And ask yourself  "What can I do today for the Lord to find delight in me?

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
 -- Psalm 37:4

the Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.
- Psalm 147:11

Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
- Psalm 111:2

“I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart”
 - Psalm 40:8

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
 whatever they do prospers.
- Psalm 1:1-3

Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
- Psalm 37:1-6

The Lord makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in him;
though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
- Psalm 37:23-24

the Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.
- Psalm 147:11

The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse,
but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.
- Proverbs 11:20

The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in people who are trustworthy.
- Proverbs 12:22

My God is faithful!

How awesome is it to know that The Lord is always faithful! I'm doing a study this week on God's faithfulness and I have been very blessed by it! And I'm still trying to wrap it around this head of mine.
There was a time in my life when I thought I had to watch every move I made, and every word I said. Because I didn't understand the undying love and never ending faithfulness God has given me. But God has shown me that it's not by my own works and doings that keep Him faithful. It's His love. I know now that there is nothing that can keep me from the love and faithfulness of Christ!

15 But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15

O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
  Psalm 89:8

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
 Psalm 36:5

 Lamentations 3:22-23
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassion's never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness?  Not at all!
 Romans 3:3-4

I've had a goal to read Psalms every morning. And it has just blessed me so much because through the book of Psalms God has revealed Himself to me so much in the last week about His faithfulness, love, kindness, compassion and the list goes on and on! He never leaves and never forsakes His children and I am just so blessed and joyous that The Lord is my life, my Everything! He is faithful to me forever. And not one day will come to pass when He shall forsake me.

Where are you seeing God's faithfulness in your own life?

Your Light!

It is such a gorgeous day out side and I am very much enjoying a much needed quiet time with God!
Today I am encouraged to write about being a light to those around you. Whether you are at work, school, store, or even in your house God wants to use you to be a light! To shine for His glory.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.                                                                                                                                           Matthew 5:16
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
                                                                    Matthew  5:14

It is just so awesome that God is calling us to be a light for His glory! We are the light of the world. If we do not shine for the ones around us, how will they see?

One time when I was working at Panera Bread, I was taking a drink break with a fellow employee as we were talking he looked at me and said

"Heather, you make me question my belief because you are always so happy and so full of life, even at work!

To be honest, my mind was blown! I was under the impression that I had to tell someone about the love of God to call it officially witnessing, but I couldn't have been more  wrong!  The Lord has shown me that showing everyone His love is a much better witnessing tool. Because the media and religion are giving the wrong idea about God! And because of that, people kind of stay away from Christianity. Which is sad because they are letting religion get in the way of true freedom in Christ!  Even if the word God is brought up, automatically they want to change the subject.

God has shown me that instead of speaking the Word to them, Show them the Word through your actions and let Him shine through you!

And  When that happens, they begin to wonder "What does this person have that we don't?  And of course my response to that is Jesus!  He has turned my darkness into light, and has lifted every chain off me so I can be free!

So, even if you think you are not making a difference, truth is YOU ARE! When you continue to shine your light for Christ, you are making every difference! You are not only making a difference in yourself, or the others around you but you are making a difference in the whole world! Because whether you see it or not God has used you to place a light in someone's heart and that light will continue to burn brighter.
What a privileged it is to be a light for the Kingdom of God!  To let His Light shine through you! It's such an awesome overwhelming feeling! You don't even want to hide it. You want to share it to the world!

Your light spreads Gods love around you and everyone will see!
Your light shines before men, that they may see your works and glorify your Father!
Your light can do great things.
Your light can inspire.
Your light can reach the lost.
Your light can change lives.
 Your light can love!
