My expierence with breastfeeding

You know, when I had made the decision on breastfeeding my child I honestly didn't know what to expect. I've heard it was the most beautiful experience and I've heard from others that it was so painful and frustrating. I guess it depends on the child maybe? Whether or not they latch on okay or maybe sensitivity? I just know in my experiences of breastfeeding it was so horrible the first two weeks.. Kinda like the storm before the calmness, the pain before the pleasure.

I was still in so much pain from giving birth and the frustration of  the lack of sleep made it worse. I was one tired mama and lets just say I wasn't a pro at first when it came to breastfeeding my child. It made me question my Motherhood ability. Whether or not I was even a good mom. "How could a mom not know how to feed her daughter?" I wondered often.. And maybe I freaked out over the matter because of the emotions caused from a lack of sleep and my husband not being able to stay home to help. However, I was a mess.

After seeing three experts and reading and seeing all of the positions to help my daughter latch on it still didn't help. She would always latch on perfectly but I just wasn't comfortable. The positions weren't comfortable to me, I often felt like I was doing it wrong, I constantly wondered if I was feeding her enough, the pain from breastfeeding was horrible..So, horrible I even cried many times. And because of the lack of confidence as a new mother I had doubts.

Really, I'm going to be honest here.. Breastfeeding at first wasn't a bonding moment for me.. It was something I dreaded doing because the pain was hard to bare. It was something I didn't enjoy at all. In fact the only thing that kept me from giving up on breastfeeding was the health benefits and the fact it was free. And the support of my Prince Charming Leon was amazing!! Leon honestly could care less whether or not I breastfed or did formula.. Whatever I wanted to do he was completely supportive.

After doing some research on breastfeeding and what helps other women. I received the best information I could have ever received in helping me overcome this.

I was told "Instead of thinking about the pain and problems of breastfeeding while feeding your baby, pray for her instead.. Put away the phone, pause the remote and just pray over her. It makes you think of breastfeeding a totally different way and shines a new light on the matter".

And it was so true! After a couple days of choosing to pray for her  during feedings I didn't even feel the pain anymore. It just went away and the breastfeeding experience became a wonderful bonding moment for me and my daughter and I believe this little habit will continue to grow into a big one. Leaving my daughter and I with a great and powerful prayer relationship. I'm so glad I never gave up breastfeeding and to be honest I'm going to be kinda sad to end it in the next four months.

Sweet mama's if you're having trouble with breastfeeding  I just deeply want to encourage you to take this advice and pray over your child while breastfeeding them and singing worship with them. I just know it will take your relationship with them to a deeper level and you'll be starting a really amazing habit as you're teaching your child the power of prayer.. And if breastfeeding doesn't work out for you there is seriously
nothing wrong with bottle feeding and it doesn't  make you any less of a loving mother..All I can say is whatever works for you and your baby is the best thing to do. Don't let anyone tell you differently, beautiful.

On a British note.. Can I just say I love this couple family?  So cute!

Tips For Quick Recovery After Labor

Images from my first month of being a mama

I have A LOT of friends who are pregnant this year and I am just as happy as can be! I just adore reading their blog posts and reading their twitter and face book updates about how their little one's are kicking and how they're excited to be meeting their little babies really soon.. Can I just say I'm super excited too!! I mean honestly I just get so pumped when someone I know is pregnant!! It's such an incredible blessing.

Today I'm going to be sharing with you some helpful hints on having a quick recovery after labor. I really hope it benefits you!!!

1. Rest! This was something I've had to be told more than once. Right after I had Evie I felt so light and even though I was as sore as anything I wanted to do stuff like laundry, clean etc. Mainly I just didn't want to run behind on laundry. I just advise you to take it easy and enjoy the time you have with you sweet angelic baby. The laundry can wait, ordering pizza for dinner is a great idea, and hey that cute co-worker of yours is meant to help you out. So let him! Keep him busy. I mean after all it won't be long until you are wishing you could just chill and relax on the couch. ;)

2. The word "No" isn't always a bad word. Plus a lot of times it's much needed.. It's as simple as this. If you're not up for company just tell them that you are tired and need sleep.. I really believe that sleep takes a huge place in helping your body heal. And you're not gonna get much sleep when you have everyone and their mother coming to visit you.. I'm sure they'll understand and be totally okay with it. After all it's all about you right now and I'm sure that sweet baby of yours would rather be in your arms right now. :)

3. Stay hydrated and eat. Staying hydrated and eating is so very important right now. You're body is going through so many changes while it's in the process of healing. You really don't want to starve it from the things that it needs. :)

I hope this small bit of info helps! It really helped me get back on my feet again! Be blessed sisters and enjoy your precious  little one! :)

A delivery that took place 6 months ago.. Part two

These last couple of days felt like weeks. I wanted to meet my daughter and I no longer wanted to wait!
And Saturday finally came along. It was mine and Leon's last day to ourselves and we quite enjoyed it. That's a bonus about having an induction because you know without a doubt your baby's coming that day you planned.

That night Leon and I were watching a Disney movie. I was actually going to the bathroom to put on something sexy for one last round before baby. But as I did that a bunch of blood appeared. I guess you could say I was pretty freaked out at this moment.

I ran and grabbed Leon and we called the hospital. And of course they told us to come in right away!

After they checked to see if everything was okay they figured out I was in a early stage of labor. So they gave me two options. 1. Go home take a bath and come back tomorrow or 2. Get things started tonight and have a baby by morning. And of course my answer was 2. I didn't wanna go home empty handed!

It was a long night. Full of pain, hand grabbing, epidurals, shots, and the feeling of wanting to scream. All I wanted at this point was a warm bath. But that wasn't going to happen. But even though I was in more pain that night then I have ever experienced I was more joyful and excited than anything. I was gonna meet my daughter very soon, the little lady I have been waiting for. This is the moment I have been dreaming about.

Finally around 9:00 Am I was ready to push! I started pushing around 9:10 and we had a beautiful baby girl at 9:45 pm..

She was finally here and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Every hair on her head, her toes, fingers, her birth mark on her back. Everything. Anybody who says they don't believe in love at first sight has never been a parent. Because when my eyes first saw this little angel my heart was filled with only love.

Over coffee. (Encouragement to a beautiful pregnant momma)

If I were having coffee with you today, I would give you this HUGE awkward hug that none Pregers and Pregers are known to give each other. I'd ask you "How are you doing and feeling"  I'd also ask you if you had any amazing sonogram pictures to show me.. I'd even treat you to some Decaf coffee with a pastry. :)

Evelynne's Sonogram picture.
If I were having coffee with you, I'd tell you how beautiful you looked even if you were wearing sweats. Because that new momma glow looks radiant on you!

I would tell you how excited I am about your pregnancy and how I've been praying for you. And that I can't wait to see what God has planned for this precious life that He's created inside you!
Me at 39 weeks
I would ask how you were feeling knowing that your day is coming up real soon? Sooner than you even realize. The day you will be holding this little life that you have carried for nine months. It's so exciting!

I would ask you if you've had any crazy dreams yet? And than I would fill you in and tell you about my crazy dreams when I was pregnant. The crazy dream when my Grandmother was Pregnant, and the dream of when Panera Bread wouldn't give me my food because they said it wasn't mine.. When I knew it was!!.. (That dream even made me wake up mad!) It's so funny what pregnancy does to you!

If I were having coffee with you, I would tell you not to worry about anything. Sometimes it's hard to not be afraid or to worry when you have a little life that you love and adore to protect. There's so many things the enemy tries to fill our heads with just so that we will live in fear. But I will remind you that perfect love casts out fear and that Jesus gave us that perfect love when He died on the cross for us! So that we will be made whole. I would tell you that God has major plans for this youngster of yours and don't the the enemy tell you otherwise.

I would tell you that your baby is created to live and declare the works of The Lord. And that your little blessing is beautifully and wonderfully made with nothing missing and nothing lacking.

I would tell you that Jesus is with you every pregnant and momma step of the way and that there is nothing to be feared. <3

If I were having coffee with you, I would tell you that Evelynne has been so active lately and that she was actually trying to get into things today! I really believe I have my work cut out for me. I wonder what God has planned for this little lady of curiosity and determination? I can't wait to see!
If I were having coffee with you, I would tell you that I love you! & that we momma's are meant to look out for each other. I would encourage you to call or text me whenever you needed a lift of Spirit!

I would tell you to brace yourself because once you hold your sweet child in your arms. Your life will never be the same! Xoxo

Tips on losing The Baby Weight.

I have been asked by quite  a few women on how I lost all of my baby weight so soon. So I thought I'd write a blog post about it for all you  mamma's and pregnant mamma's!

1. Start out eating right. I know when you're pregnant there are times when you feel like eating everything in sight.  (At least, I know I did!) There wasn't a day that went by where I wasn't craving a Chick fil a Large Milkshake and a #1. Not a day! But I know the fat/bad sugars/ and calories content on those things were even crazy for a pregnant woman that is supposed to be gaining weight. So I forced myself to be disciplined and I chose one day of the week to eat my desire and that day was Friday. And let me tell you my friend, Chickfila tasted so much more better when I waited for it. And I didn't feel bad about eating it either!
I also recommend healthy snacking  if your craving ice cream substitute with frozen yogurt with strawberries! Or if you want something crunchy and salty like potato chips try eating lightly salted nuts instead and see if that satisfies your craving. And if your craving hot dogs try buying the better and more natural brand. & if you're pregnant you'll be starting your munchkin out on a healthy start!

2. Get moving. Working out was a major thing for me. I wasn't working so I had major time on my hands. But you can do a lot of things and get a good work out. Just be creative. I usually went for a walk daily in my neighborhood and occasionally took my bike for a spin. It was great! It was set aside for Jesus time and quality time with my baby. I really think she even liked walking in my tummy and to this day walking relaxes her.

3. Breast feed. Breast feeding was the thing that really brought me back to my normal weight!  When you're loosing 500 calories daily from breastfeeding alone. That can do the trick! It also saves you lots of $$$!!

I hope this little bit of advice helps! This sums up everything I did while being pregnant and after pregnancy. Don't forget ladies that no matter what you're beautiful, you're valued, and your cherished by Your Heavenly beloved! Heck you're a tiger. Go hear yourself roar! Haha!
SEE THOSE PEARLY WHITES!!!

 Three Things Thursday!!
Happy Thursday lovelies! Another day for a fun link-up don't you think??? :) Click here to join in all the fun!

Today's question for this link up is
"3 of your favorite movies"

1.  "Emma" with  Gwyneth Paltrow.
I love everything about that movie. The music, romance, the acting, the wardrobe, time period, and the comedy! Plus I love Jane Austin. I honestly think I could live in that century. (as a rich person of course!)

2. LOTR!!  Call me a nerd but ever since The Lord of the rings trilogy  came out they have been my favorite movies! I'm always telling Leon that we need to get Elvish wedding rings with Elvin writings haha!

3. Star wars. Yep, I'm the proud owner of a Star wars shirt. I love all of them and was seriously disappointed that Star wars was sold to Disney. I just don't thing it's gonna work out. =/

What are your top favorites??? XOXO

Calming Your Baby & Sleep Methods

Today I am linking up with the lovely  Kaitlyn & Jennifer!
Sometimes calming your baby to get him/her to sleep can be difficult. And then there are some babies that love to sleep and they have the luckiest mama's alive haha!

I kinda have a bed time routine with my baby girl that seems to help her sleep better. She's still waking up about twice at night but it really helps her go to bed quicker and more calm.

1. It starts out with a bath which this part is only twice a week because you really don't need to bath your babe every day ;) I rub her with some body wash and kind of message her as well. I don't rush bath time because it's not only fun watching her kick and make funny noises but she's also getting tired out from all that splashing. I pretty much let her play until she wants to come out!

2. Lotion rub down.
I've read in a parenting magazine that if you message your baby with a nice calming voice with a smile on your face it really helps calming them to a restful sleep and I have found that information to be really helpful.

3. Reading to her.
Reading to Evelynne is one of my favorite parts of the day. I can't wait until she can truly understand what I'm reading. But I know without a doubt she loves the quality time she has with me as I read to her. We have a Princess Bible we read to her and she sits in my lap and I read to her as I run my fingers through her hair.

4. Nursing.
Before bed I give her one last round. It's usually her longest nursing and it pretty much does the job to help her fall asleep. While she nurses I pray. I pray health over her, protection and sweet sleeps. She loves hearing mommy pray. I really believe she knows who I'm talking too!

5. & before I lay her down, turn on her giraffe and turn off the light. I kiss her precious head and I say "Dream big precious girl."  I've realized today that I'm not the only Mama who tells their babies that! I'm glad we'll have big dreamers in the future!!
